Dell Wade

Throughout Dell Wade's High School and College years he has performed on oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trombone, baritone, piano, double bass, guitar and bass guitar. He has held principal double bass positions in Highline Civic, Thalia symphonies and Collegium Musicum (Thalia) and was a member of the Broadway Orchestra (now Orchestra Seattle). He has also had extensive stage band experience performing on the baritone saxophone and bass guitar.

Since 1970, Dell has done many arrangements for orchestra and stage bands. Between the years 1973 to 1977 he studied composition with Lockrem Johnson. In 1980 he graduated from Cornish Institute (Seattle, WA), magna cum laude and his teachers included Bern Herbolshiemer and Janice Giteck.

He was the associate conductor of the Rainier Symphony (Kent, WA) for the 1983/1984 season. From 1992 to 1998 he was the conductor of the Vashon/Maury Chamber Orchestra. He is currently the conductor of the Boeing "Orchestra of Flight."
