Matthew James Briggs

Matthew James BriggsMatthew grew up in Massachusetts where he studied jazz drum set with the late Alan Dawson.  As a composer Matthew began in high school, first writing jazz tunes and later moving into classical music.  Matthew received his bachelor’s degree in music composition from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with Swedish composer Sven-David Sandström.  Matthew moved to the Seattle area in 2006 and currently studies composition with Wayne Horvitz.  http://music.matthewjamesbriggs.com
