Phillip Peterson
Phillip Peterson - Composer, Producer,Cellist, Conductor - has played the cello since he was 3 years old. He is a student of Richard Aaron (Cleveland Institute) and Raymond Davis (former long-term Seattle Symphony Principal cellist). By the age of 17 he was touring Europe with his cello. He has conducted his own compositions in major symphony halls, and in sacred settings with the Grace Experimental Orchestra. Mr. Peterson performed string tracks on the two most recent Nada Surf records. He has performed on the late-night shows of Conan, Leno, and Carson Daly, and shared the stage with BB King, Kenny Loggins, Al Green, The O'Jays, Keb Mo', Taj Mahal, Leanne Rimes and The Temptations, as well as members of Heart and Yes. Phillip is a producer who owns and operates his own studio in Seattle: “House of Breaking Glass”. He has produced Portugal The Man, Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Thee Emergency, strings for Page Hamilton (Helmet), Mastodon, The Posies, and worked on projects with and for CBS, Disney, EMI, Columbia Records, and Epitaph Records. Recently he played strings for Owl City which reached # 1 and remained in the top 40 for several weeks, and is a multi-platinum record. His band Tennis Pro performed in Tokyo in Oct. 2010 and in April, 2011. His work has been Grammy Nominated, and he is among the most sought after string arrangers of today’s music scene. | |
